Music classes with Ms. Justine are designed for children ages 0-5 yrs along with their caregivers to foster a sense of community + connection, joy + wonder, along with supporting each child’s development. Each class is 45 minutes of live music in which Ms. Justine will play ukulele or guitar and caregivers are encouraged to sing along to classic children’s songs and nursery rhymes.

Each class includes a new theme related to the season of the year with additional music for all to enjoy. Classes promote fine motor skills through instrument play (shakers, drums, ukuleles, scarves), and gross motor skills through movement & dance (tummy time, crawling, walking, dancing with caregivers, bouncing & moving to the beat). Each week children work on keeping a steady beat & maintaining rhythm, recognizing patterns in music through repetition of simple songs, and starting to comprehend low vs. high pitch sounds along with dynamics of fast and slow.

Freedom of movement & peer interaction is encouraged to promote social skills. Early exposure to music, particulary engagement in musical play has been known to activate different areas of the brain and support a child’s speech development, motor skills and overall sense of belonging, confidence and well being.

Ms. Justine is an actress, songwriter, and educator who is passionate about sharing her love of music & storytelling with little ones. She earned her BFA from NYU Tisch, where she studied musical theatre and film acting. While living in New York, Justine worked as a caregiver for young children while pursuing a career as a performer. As an actress, Justine is a member of the professional actor’s union, Actor’s Equity Association, and has performed in theaters across the country, from national touring productions to regional plays and world premiere musicals. Justine is also a songwriter, and her debut EP, One Less Person, is available now on all streaming platforms! As an educator, Justine has worked for companies in New York (The Cappiello Studio), and Philadelphia (PlayArts) as a theater teacher for school age children and a music teacher for early childhood.
